Scientific Sessions

Interventional Cardiology & Structural Heart Disease

This track focuses on the latest advances in percutaneous and minimally invasive treatments such as transcatheter aortic/mitral valve therapies, left atrial appendage closure, and complex coronary interventions. Attendees will explore device innovation, procedural planning, outcomes data, patient‑selection strategies and hybrid surgical‑catheter approaches. Emphasis is placed on integrating structural heart disease management into everyday practice and fostering collaboration between interventional cardiologists, surgeons and imaging specialists.

Arrhythmias, Electrophysiology & Device Therapies

From atrial fibrillation to ventricular tachycardia and sudden cardiac death prevention, this track covers modern electrophysiology. Topics include catheter ablation, implantable devices (ICDs, CRT), leadless pacing, remote device monitoring, wearable technologies and the evolving role of artificial intelligence in arrhythmia detection and management. Interactive case discussions will highlight complex decision‑making and device optimisation.

Preventive Cardiology & Lifestyle Medicine

Prevention remains the bedrock of cardiovascular care. This track emphasises primary and secondary prevention strategies including risk assessment, lifestyle modification, nutrition, exercise, obesity management, diabetes and hypertension control, lipidology and smoking cessation. The sessions will explore how to implement preventive programmes, the role of digital health, and how early intervention can reduce long‑term cardiovascular burden.

Regenerative Cardiology, Cell Therapy & Future Therapies

The frontier of cardiovascular medicine lies in regeneration and novel therapies. This track explores stem‑cell therapy, gene therapy, tissue engineering, bio‑printing of cardiac tissue, immunomodulation in cardiovascular disease, and translational research driving the next generation of treatments. Sessions will examine early‑phase trials, ethical/regulatory issues and how to bring these innovations from bench to bedside.

Coronary Artery Disease & Acute Cardiac Care

This track examines the full spectrum of ischemic heart disease: from plaque biology, risk stratification and medical therapy to primary PCI, complex acute coronary management and post‑infarct care. Sessions will feature updates on guideline‑driven care, new pharmacotherapies, invasive vs non‑invasive strategies, rescue PCI, and the role of multidisciplinary teams in managing acute MI and its complications. The goal: translate research into real‑world acute cardiac care improvements.

Vascular Medicine & Peripheral Interventions

This track expands beyond the heart to cover vascular disease of the arterial and venous systems, including peripheral arterial disease, carotid disease, aneurysms, endovascular therapies, venous thromboembolism, and vascular imaging. Sessions will highlight advances in device technology, procedural planning, patient selection, complication management and the integration of vascular care into cardiovascular programmes.

Digital Health, Artificial Intelligence & Robotics in Cardiology

Technology is reshaping cardiology — this track addresses digital health, AI‑driven diagnostics, telemedicine, remote monitoring, robotic‑assisted interventions and virtual care models. Expect discussions on how such technologies improve efficiency, accuracy and access; challenges in implementation; regulatory and ethical issues; and practical workflows for integrating these tools into cardiovascular practice.

Women’s Cardiovascular Health & Geriatric Cardiology

Cardiovascular disease presents differently in women and older adults — this track addresses gender‑specific issues, aging cardiovascular systems, geriatric syndromes, frailty, multi‑morbidity and personalised care. Topics include heart disease in pregnancy, menopause‑related cardiovascular risk, vascular ageing, and strategies for optimal management of older patients with cardiovascular disease in a holistic, patient‑centred manner.

Heart Failure, Transplantation & Mechanical Circulatory Support

In this track, the focus is on contemporary management of heart failure including preserved and reduced ejection fraction, advanced therapies, device support (LVAD, ECMO), heart transplantation, and myocardial recovery. Discussions will cover patient phenotyping, hemodynamic monitoring, outpatient management, biomarkers, remote monitoring, and selection criteria for transplantation and support devices. Outcomes, quality‑of‑life and cost‑effectiveness issues will all be covered.

Cardiac Imaging: Echo, CT, MRI, Nuclear & Advanced Modalities

Accurate diagnosis and procedural planning depend on imaging — this track addresses current and emerging imaging modalities. Sessions will cover echocardiography (including 3D/4D), cardiac CT/CTA, cardiac MRI, nuclear cardiology, and the integration of AI and wearable imaging tools. Discussions include how best to use imaging for structural interventions, functional assessment and decision‑making in complex cardiovascular cases.

Cardiovascular Surgery & Hybrid Cardiac Procedures

This track focuses on surgical approaches including coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG), valve repair and replacement, aortic surgery, minimally invasive cardiac surgery, and hybrid catheter‑surgery procedures. Sessions will address indications, surgical innovation, perioperative care, surgical outcomes and collaboration with interventional teams. The aim is to foster a heart‑team approach across specialties.

Pediatric & Congenital Heart Disease

This track brings focus to cardiovascular disease in children and adults with congenital heart defects. Sessions will cover prenatal diagnosis, paediatric interventions, adult congenital heart disease (ACHD), new device therapies, structural intervention in younger patients, long‑term follow‑up, and transitions of care. Collaboration across paediatric cardiology, imaging, intervention and congenital surgery will be emphasised.
